Some of our hikers came accross these rope like structures, we think they are there to help contain the wet area thus preserving the wetland/peat areas in the Wicklow mountains.  If anyone can offically confirm their purpose we would be gratefull.

On our decent from Mount Leinster towards Turf Cutters Cottage.

Yesterday's hike in the Blackstairs, started in Ballycrystall and assended Mountleinster via the Beech Trees and Stony Top,  we decended back to the start via Turf Cutters Cottage, photos taken by Lily.
